Can UP have the next Bangalore?

I was wondering if Uttar Pradesh can be the next Bangalore. It has everything. It has a large population which is decently literate. It has IIT Kanpur, IIT BHU, NIT ALLAHABAD and other deemed universities. It has good connectivity to Delhi with Expressways and Highways. Crime is significantly down. It has the largest Airport coming in India Jewar International Airport. It has cities like Noida which already is an IT hub. I believe cities like Lucknow and Kanpur can be the next hub of investment and employment opportunities in India. They have their own metro projects for city commute and for long distance travel we have RRTS service that is a work in progress. To top it all Alcohol is not banned here unlike Gujarat. I think with the right planning Uttar Pradesh can have several Bangalore-like tech hubs. What are your thoughts on this?

30y back Bangalore was like what Mysore is today. So definitely, any city can be next Bengaluru. But I bet it to be a Gujrati city. Like Ahmedabad, gift city or any new concept like neom. Extreme weather and air pollution is the main reason I left delhi ncr. But blr has its own issues like language issues, protectionism and traffic ⛔ woes. I feel no metro in India is good enough, infact a village is better than tier 2 or 3. I see many people 100+ age living in Village. Hard to find 80+ in metros. UP and Bihar need 20y of double engine rule to gain from infrastructure development and that will bring economic growth alongwith IT sector

Problem with UP is that it’s the Indian Florida. In Blr true you hear the recent news and you might feel a bit worried but not to the extent of UP. People will rather have boards in Kannada as well and deal with traffic rather than getting shot by a random drunk who did it cause he’s related to a politician. Moreover I feel opinions on this depend on which side you’re from. If you’re from the north you’d prefer UP. If you’re from the south you’d prefer Blr. Can UP be the next BLR , geographically / economically maybe. What is going to be the challenge is the mentality of the people towards outsiders which blr isn’t great either but would still rank better than UP.

UP is good for the next part of Gangs of Wasseypur & Mirzapur not IT. It's the people which make the city, if you ever have been to UP , you would never feel like settling down there .

The deciding factor may also include safety. Bangalore, I feel, is way safer to people in general than UP. If things continue the status quo, I don't see it changing anytime soon.

There is little chance that any city can become a tech / finance hub outside of already established hubs like Bangalore , Hyderabad, Mumbai etc. The reason is the agglomeration effect. Companies typically tend to establish near where the talents and / or where the supply chains are. It's a bit like US where the Silicon valley /NYC dominates the tech / finance scene even though the cost of living is sky-high.

In economics there’s a concept called agglomeration effect. So basically the more tech companies are in Bangalore the more sense it makes to start a tech company there since labour pool, know how, etc is easy to access. It’s possible to kick start it by SEZs and incentives for tech companies to create offices - a few years back lots of Indian startups like Indiagold and Ultrahuman set up offices in Abu Dhabi due to incentives from that government.

Cities like Bangalore did not come up overnight. . Even before IT, Bangalore a a good lot of government and private companies and manufacturing base. To top it up hosur acted as a satellite town for Bangalore providing a lot of factory and employment support. The success of Bangalore is also due to the ecosystem of the state and its periphery. UP is missing that, Too much fighting in the recent past. The ecosystem is destroyed, or to the least has damaged for too long now. People who can contribute have already left the place or do not have the capability to build it. IMO, no person will chose to invest in UP because there is no liquor in Gujarat. They may chose UP for multiple reason having alcohol will not be one. So, UP cannot grow by trying to replicate Bangalore/Chennai or HYD. They need to think of something else.

Bangalore vs Hyderabad vs Pune: For next 20-30 years, which city offers better prospects for Settling down

I am planning to settle down in one particular city in the next 3 to 5 years. I am currently evaluating Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune. From long term perspective ( for next 20 to 30 years) Which city will offer better job prospects ( IT/Software Development/Product Management/Strategy related jobs) along with a decent life style supported by satisfactory amenities like Gated housing options which are not super expensive, Good schooling options for kids, Decent commuting facilities like Metro, wide roads etc. Interested to hear feedback from folks who went through or going through this dilemma.

Planning to relocate from Bengaluru to Noida

I have 9+ years of experience in Software Development and Managing teams at scale. I’m in Bengaluru from last 5 years and before that I was in Mumbai for 4 years. Now I’m planning to relocate to Noida, due to following reasons: - Want to stay relatively nearer to my home town(UP) - Want to be accessible for my family and relatives, when they need me the most - Want to enjoy North Indian aspect of living - Want my kid to raise in North Indian environment I need suggestions in two things - Does Noida is a right choice considering my home town is in UP? - Which Noida sector is developed, have better infrastructure and all the basic necessities are nearby? - Which companies pay almost in similar range comparatively to Bengaluru or Hyderabad? - Any other thing that I should be aware of? People who moved out of Bangalore, which city did you move to ?

Bangalore's infra has been crumbling under the weight of its population growth. I believe that yesterday's traffic jam was just a trailer and situation will only worsen with time. Seriously contemplating moving out of Bangalore after being here for last 5 years. People who moved out, where did you move? And are you happy now with your decision ?

India needs more thriving ecosystems like Banglore!!! At least 10

Recently I consumed a post here in GV, it's summary is Banglore is way way miles head of any other cities in India. Why Banglore is like today what helped and still helping why not other cities thriving like Banglore. India needs at least 10 ecosystems like Banglore, Hyderabad is in that direction from the past 10 years, But other ecosystems also should start focusing in that direction across India, North, South, East, West and Center and Banglore ecosystem should help and guide for that. Would like to hear what others thoughts or opinions on this.
