I am joining EY GDS on 15th April, before joining they are scheduling interview calls with the client. Is it a known practice in EY?

My client interview happened twice and they have still put my candidature on hold. I don't know why they can't simply say no?

Is this the practice for every role they hire? I have also interviewed for ey on April 18th.they said I cleared it and hr round will be setup by recruiter. I have also submitted a candidate information sheet that they wanted me to fill out along with my aadhaar and Updated resume. When I called the recruiter on Friday he said the hr interview will be offline 1to1. How much time can they take for the hr interview?
