Help me in deciding

Hi, I am an M. Tech CSE graduate from tier 1 college. I have one year of experience in back-end development.

My current CTC is 14 lpa with 12.6 lpa as base pay.

I got an offer from a fintech startup with 15.5 lpa as base pay, 74k variable and 1.5 lpa as ESOPs vested over 4 years.

Am I low balled in the offer?

My current company has a notice period of 60 days and the offer company needs joining in 30 days which in turn needs me to pay back for the remaining 30 days.

I kindly request your help in taking the decision.

My pov: the hike percentage won’t make a big difference to your lifestyle. ESOPs is quite low. Variable will be deducted at 30% tax. So more or less you will end up with same salary.

So join only if the new company is significantly better in terms of learning or outcomes.

Why do you want to switch?

This is lowballed, who gives 1.5 lacs of stock that too vested over 4 years, almost all will go tax.

Take that offer letter, sign it.

If your current company is good than the new one then stay. If not try to switch but I would say see if you can get more offers

Good luck!

You got pretty lowballed. Take that offer letter and don't join. Interview more and take two more offers.

Need to decide my offer/situation

I just joined a company and it's been only 2 weeks. When I accepted the offer there was another interview in pipeline and some delay was going. The result came and now I am confused what to do.

Downball?

I used to work in a early stage startup. Got selected from campus placement and they provided hefty fix pay(16 lpa) + 16 lpa ( spread across 4 years including esop and bonus) (totally fraud to come on day 0 in IIT). They now fired me. I ...
