An observation

Yesterday, booked an auto (Namma Yatri) from Koramangala to Marathalli. Auto driver maybe in his Mid 30’s a Telugite settled in Bangalore. I was trying to give instructions in Mix of English/Hindi/Telugu on where I am and he understood I am a Telugu speaking guy he switched to Telugu. Once I boarded the auto, he started a casual conversation in Telugu asking me about my whereabouts, what I do and from how long I have been in Bangalore. For which, I replied it’s nearly a year. Then he was quick to respond “Samvastaram avthundi vachi Kannada nerchukoled” (It’s been year and You haven’t learnt Kannada). I said, you are right I should have learnt Kannada and I will learn (at least learn basic words we use in our day to day life). Then we moved from discussing Kannada to Andhra politics why Chandrababu Naidu was arrested, Pawan Kalyan and who will win the elections, he was praising late Rajashekar reddy and criticising his son Jagan . While we were discussing, I opened my phone and started watching IndvsPak match on my phone and he observed this and started talking about how mobiles are impacting lives for good and bad. He told me about his college and school days, how the new years were celebrated, gifting the greeting card with the favourite actors/actress photos on them, how the gang used to go for a movie, celebrate by cutting cake at midnight. As I write this, I am remembering all those birthday parties, those cake and thumps up near year celebrations in my school days. Now , this has changed to sending a happy new year sticker on WhatsApp. Came the destination I got off the auto and picked up my phone, saw a status about my friends birthday. I opened WhatsApp to text him wishes, instead I called him and we spoke for half an hour.

Everyone knows the org behind this, faces are captured on cameras but still these culprits are roaming free. That’s how democracy works!

Roads, Metro, Taxi Drivers arrogance, Corruption....Naah Speak Kannada first. I'll be as blunt as possible. "Supporting this behaviour will make life hell for non-Kannadigas in Karnataka and Kannadigas out of Karnataka." This CM has done nothing but spread hatred and divide Karnataka as much as possible.

Is there a possibility the situation gets worse? Even the doctors are asked to write prescription in Kannada, so the goverment is also supporting it in a way.

On a recent episode of Nikhil Kamath, he says “Bangalore is famous for nice and welcoming people”. This is so very true to a large extent. Every city however has some outliers who tarnish the image by going extreme. I have seen a lot of posts on GrapeVine complaining about Bangalore and their people. People should understand that every native resident of a city carries a profound sense of connection and endeavours to uphold the cultural heritage of their hometown. And what better way to preserve heritage than to safeguard language ? This is the reason I believe most non Hindi speaking cities try to impose their language on outsiders. All said and done, I feel language should never be imposed but at the same time it shouldn’t be ridiculed either. I’ve seen a lot of “Kannada” hate post and is disheartening to see it. And lastly I appologize to all those who have had negative experiences due to a few troublemakers. TL;DR : Bangalore is a lovely city with warm and welcoming people.

I came to Bangalore 2 weeks ago. this is my first time visit to Bangalore. One fine day I was casually walking to my PG after having a tea at chai house. in the middle of a road a person with his newborn baby and wife approach me with folding hands. He asked me if I speak hindi. I nodded, then he said Iam from Maharashtra and he came here for job, but his master has kicked him out and not given him salary. He has no money for food and to travel back. He asked me to give him 300. I sensed it might be scam but being an emotional guy I thought 300 is not a big deal. I said I don't have cash but I can pay via phonepe. he showed me his qr on mobile. A thought ran in my mind does he has no one who he can call and ask for online money if he has working smart phone. when I started typing the amount 300 he said sir 300 for one person, pls pay for my wife too. I said I only have this much money only. I paid and walked off quickly. I think I'm scammed but it could be a genuine case too. tell me guys have you faced/heard this before. this might probably aware someone in future.

Living in Bangalore is like participating in a daily obstacle course of stupidity these days. It's like the city is hosting the World Championships of Not Using Common Sense. Day by day, it’s getting crazy in here. People are literally just straight-away stupid. Picture this: I'm in the metro, following the line like some good boii. But no, here come the backline breakers, sprinting ahead like they just got the memo that the free WiFi is about to expire. They won’t even have the patience to let others deboard from the station (bs ghusna hai sbko). On the road: Small Aile is there, and these morons either walk in the middle of the road or walk slowly like they are going to maaiyat. There is no way to even overtake them. One day a couple was literally just standing in the middle of the fucking metro entry gate, and all other people were going from sides. I was literally at my fucking limits; I controlled the urge to ask them that whatever shit they're discussing, if that is a national concern, then it’s okay; otherwise, please fuck around on the side. And what’s up with this throwing garbage on the road thing, literally every morning on the road, tons of food, spillage, and disposals of whatnot can be seen. God, please throw it in the trash.
