Yes it is safe . Groww/Zerodha don’t actually hold your MF units .

Many of us are holding in non-demat form for various reasons. Kuvera/ MFCentral/ CAMS etc.

I always register directly on the mfs website ( setup mandates for it ) and then import it in groww to check what's happening

You can purchase MF from any platform - they are all just brokers (online or offline). After purchase, make sure to recheck your folio number on the fund’s website directly by registering there and also keep a note of all folio numbers and unit details in a separate excel file. Also don’t forget to add nominee.

A few years back, I had invested in MFs via broker bankbazaar which was transferred to Investica since bankbazaar sold their MF unit. Then again, Investica also went out of business or I switched to some other broker ig...I forgot what happened. I always registered directly on the MF house after purchasing via broker so that I can keep track. I have 1 query - Can MF brokers defraud my funds after my money reaches MF house?

You can buy from any of these (or as a matter of fact, any good online MF distributor platform). But make sure to check your mail regarding the purchasing of units that you would receive from the mutual fund AMC. Apart from this, you can also check all your MF holdings on the MFCentral portal (www.mfcentral.com)

It is safe. Read a bit about this. You’ll not lose ur MF if either of these go down. Maybe if u kept some money at their end then that could be risky

Groww doesn't hold your MF. MF are held by assets management companies. Groww only show all data together. So it's safe
