SC will only target Patanjali because it is cool and safe to do. All other conglomerates have been doing same thing and even more criminal stuff, but SC will never act on them.
Complan advertises for years that it will increase height magically, bournvita is some taiyaari Jeet ki and some muscle shit, etc. while they are all just sugar. Maybe act on the MNCs too who have been committing this criminality with impunity since eternity?
Endians are pathetic that they will support these conglomerates doing this and will target the new homegrown player solely due to underlying inferiority complex.
These MNCs will employ all their PR, law, and sales team to do their stuff, have establishment and judiciary in their pockets, and then try to eliminate the homegrown competitor because it realised how to play the game. Local politicians and bureaucracy thus set up barrier and took crores of bribes to even allow the competitor to exist. If you have ever dealt with government officials and business licensing, you would instantly know how this works.
Even when people and activists called those MNCs out, they used the same judiciary and judges to sue them into oblivion. The virtue-signalling judiciary is the most shithole organisation anywhere in the world.
Agreed on why Complan action wasn't taken.
Disagree on action taken against Patanjali is solely for cool and safe purpose or inferiority complex.
Patanjali blatantly disregarded health of people or even scientific methods to prepare their tonic and made it a point to profit of innocent people during pandemic while their health was worse.
For people who believed his words and ads and the media and the fact that govt health minister stood beside him or that govt didn't bother taking any action against their ads, the people certainly feel betrayed and may have lost people in their lives due to such pathetic inhuman lies.
You can go on about whataboutery, but please understand what Patanjali did was wrong.
I am not saying other companies who sell products in this country are any better. But Patanjali sold medicine while these sold food products. Matter is more grave when it comes to medicine at time of pandemic.
If we want to point names, there are so many things to investigate and so many things to fix -
1. Stricter laws and checks against food quality, medicine quality etc
2. Issue with MDH and everest(foreign ban on it for ethylene dioxide)
3. Nestle products quality issues - india vs foreign
4. Drug substandard quality issues - Cipla and other pharma companies profiting of from it and getting clean chit post electoral bonds
It's not that action on Patanjali is bad. It's that rampant selectivity which is bad. You missed the point. Patanjali is easy to target. It is literally hounding, if you think this happens with everyone else, you are living in a cave.
Also, yes the action is correct, but we should not spread hysteria. Nobody died. And there were no medicines for COVID anyways (I hope you are intelligent enough to not fall for remdesivir), so there hasn't even been a net negative here. Patanjali in fact just gave some standard stuff for everyday health, so hounding them for saying they provided some poison is morally and objectively disingenuous.
And yes, it is indeed cool to shit on any Indian thing (not limited to Patanjali, it can be anything, even tech) due to the inferiority complex of Indians. If you disagree on this, you are just blind.
Regarding medicine quality, the strictness is there. If you show Cipla selling substandard medicines in India, you can complain to the drug controller which will harass the company. Billions of people use Indian medicines daily. If you think Pfizer is better then you are just falling for the same thing as in the original context here.
Electoral bonds are just lobbying which happens in every capitalist country and this is not the place to discuss it.

It's amazing how we have done nothing about this patanjali scam for a decade and courts are just waking up now
Me tooooo. It is so much fun looking at him coming to court for every hearing. He tried to escape court visit by playing tricks, and now court has got him by his ears😄
Fraudster of the highest order, I think someday he will get beaten by common men, looking at the kind of lies and frauds he has been doing for past few yrs

Nestle adding sugar in baby foods and making infants obese, All those fairness creame selling dreams of getting fairer, Horlicks getting sold as health drink containing mostly malt and sugar and all these from last 50 odd years but our judiciary wants to punish only new companies trying to challenge MNCs and on top of this, the judiciary comment “we will ripe you off” “Just Wow”. Why no suo motu against Nestle after recent finding or against all those whey proteins containing less proteins and more toxins. This is called selective crackdown.
