Do 2 things: Wake up early and sleep on time. Eat and exercise. If it's not genetic it's stress and habit related. Slow down.

Counter view: I suffered from hair loss a few years ago. I was the only one in my family to have this issue. I tried minoxidil for about a year, but that did not help. So I embraced it and shaved my head.  It’s been about 2 and a half years since I decided to shave my hair off and I don’t regret it at all. The first few days is difficult, mostly because all the people who are used to seeing you with hair make some comments about you. Now, it’s one less decision to make. The hairstyle remains the same every day, regardless. Long story short; it’s not the end of the world.

I am not a guy but I will tell you normal practices to keep your hair healthy. 1. Eat healthy food, exercise, get good sleep on time and wake up early - this is all given. Check your vitamin and iron levels and get them up with the doctor's help. Practice yoga if you are stressed. 2. Set a maintenance regime for your hair. Figure out your hair type and choose products accordingly. You might be using the wrong products on your hair that make your hair prone to damage. Take the doctor's help for this. 3. Avoid touching your hair and handle your hair gently, The hair is more fragile than you think and understand that hair can break easily. When you are washing your hair don't scratch the living hell out of it (I have seen my boyfriend do it). Wash it very gently. 4. Change your sheets and pillow cover at least once in 2 weeks. Use satin sheets and good microfibre towels. 5. If you have dandruff please work on it. I have seen my brother, friends and boyfriend ignore dandruff because they think it doesn't contribute to hairfall but dandruff can stop new hair from growing and it will stun your shedding and growing cycle. 6. If the damage has already started, shorten your hair length it might avoid unwanted breakages. 7. I see guys do this a lot. Don't push your hair back with your hands often. You know girls are asked not to wear high ponytails because it might take our hairline back. Same for guys, if hair falls on your face cut it or use a clip, pushing your hair back 10 20 times a day is gonna fast track your receding hairline. I would like to say use oil, that shampoo and this shampoo but I don't know your hair type.

Anyone using minoxidil here? I'm going to start it. The doctor recommended me, but I'm afraid to use it. I think I should have been given some milder treatment.

Can be genetic. If your dad is bald then you got no hope

Start using castor oil, it’s works wonders and looks like gel on hair.

Start practicing a good punch line like "all senior leaders are bald so I am due for promotion" or "I don't live depending on what outside my head I live depending on whats inside my head"... It may be useful in the long run

Hey I'm 21, I used to have terrible hair fall and dandruff for several years increased when I increased protein intake through tempeh it all stopped ! I don't know if one led to another but this was what worked for me. Apart from that mum made some home made oil and used to apply to my head regularly.

I had the same problem,I was able to reduce the hairfall. 1)Eat good food. 2) Exercise at least 4 times a week. 3) Wash your hair,using hair sampoo or conditioner (don't apply soap) 4)I use man matters advanced hair tonic. Unless you are completely bald don't try any internal treatments now. Use amla, brahmi hair oil. This will slow down hair loss to an extent. Beyond 30 you can try minoxidil+finasteride topical solution after consulting a dermatologist. Consult a dermatologist now but don't take any medicine prescribed by them other than multivitamins. Hair growth internal medicines have long term side effects. Vitamin D supplement is not meant for long term use. You might end up damaging your kidneys

Use some good Oil. Oil does help, read about it online. I too didn’t use to use Oil but I was surprised to learn 3-4 yrs back, that using Oil completely controls dandruff issue (which is one of the cause of hair fall too). Doctors will recommend minoxidil+finasteride mix, but somehow I didn’t like that solution, since it has to be used life-long as a daily routine. Another way is to go for PRP treatment, or finally hair transplant.

I'm assuming people here have experienced something similar so just wanted to ask, does Rosemary oil work? I've seen some people online who are not selling anything claim that it has worked for them.

Why “suffering” ?

You can definitely try minoxidil, but I heard that if you start minoxidil once, you will have to use it everyday. I used to have a hairfall, but I took redensyl as an option. Sharing my experience Things that didnt work 1. Had 6 prp sessions. Waste of money. Didn’t see any growth and made hair frizzy and dull. 2. Some random oils advertised on insta 3. Minoxidil - itchy scalp also lot of initial hair loss What worked for me 1. Finesteride - this worked like a charm. 2. Treating dandruff and maintaining scalp ph by using proper shampoo and conditioner. 3. Doing gym 4 times a week 3. 8 hours sleep and trying ti reduce stress
