fnf taking 45 days???

So I just completed my notice period and everyone else's payroll has been processed but the HR is saying that FnF will take 45 days as it is company policy and is pretty standard.

But this wasn't told to me when I joined nor is it mentioned anywhere.

When I showed her the employee agreement and The Wages Act - 2 day fnf rule, and asked her to "...please update me on this today itself", she asked me to stop ordering her and being unprofessional and to only reach out to her via email.

I reached out via call because when I texted her on slack about the payroll, she ignored it and then I texted on WhatsApp and she herself called me.

Is this normal? What should I do?

"please update me on this today itself"- that is indeed rude and unprofessional. You could have said like- "would it be possible to check this and confirm today?" Also, the "Code on Wages 2019 Act" is still not enforced/implemented, so you are making a fool of yourself by showing that around. Usually the FnF approximate time is intimated by HRs a few weeks after you resign. If they didn’t, you could have asked them too. But usually, many companies do take anywhere from 2-3 weeks to max 90 days time (I think the earlier rule was of 90 days)

After leaving the company, being polite will get the job done faster.

Only People in power can threaten. More over those HR are just common clerks. They just follow the policies and the order of the higher ups.

Speak politely and request them to process faster. It might happen. Yelling at them will only make it worse.

I last worked with a start up they told me it will take 60 days for fnf settlement.

I think max it can be 90 days too. But once the new act gets enforced, they need to do it within a few days.

45 days fnf is common in every company

But isn't this supposed to be told when you join a company or mentioned in the employee agreement?

45 days is an industry standard. The company should share you a calculation excel for your review in 30 days or so. Once you give go ahead, fnf is processed.

These details are understood to be obvious so not mentioned in employment contract.

Wages Act? Which Wages Act?

I think he meant “Code on Wages 2019 Act”, it got passed sometime in 2020. Probably he is not aware that even though the Bill is passed, it has not been enforced. For ex, most organisations still don’t have Basic as 50% of Fixed.
