Funny incident with navi

I was talking to one of the Navi recruiters and she became uninterested once I told her I was recently impacted by the layoff and can join within a few weeks. I mean it's funny how they don't want to interview immediate joiners who are impacted by the restructuring. I'm surprised as other company recruiter eyes lit up knowing I can join immediately but navi finds it disgusting.

Had a similar experience with udaan in 2022. Later the recruiter itself got laid off 💀

I don’t know if we have any quantifications- Recruiters in India take open to work as red flag 😂

In fact, deepinder mentioned in one of the videos, they prefer hiring by poaching.

Overall, I feel it shows insecurity of recruiters about their skills. They can’t evaluate the job candidate but once this candidate is evaluated by someone else, they chase the candidate 😂

Woh ishq hi kya jisme chase nahi 🤣

Navi recruiters are shit . One recruiter pinged me last year then she herself ghosted me after taking basic info 💀💀 . Also her linkedin posts are weird.

Haha this sucks. I have also had recruiters connect and later when I am available, simply ghost but stay active on LI

Why even bother considering Navi, that place is a lost cause. Look at their glassdoor reviews.

You dodged a big fat radioactive bullet man. Only apply to toxic firms if you are very very cornered.

Things there are a chaos. They don't have any continuity of what they do this week to the next, I believe that wud be the culture flowing down the HR team as well.

Recruiters as a rule consider people who are currently employed as a signal that the candidate is good. To them layoff is a noisy signal. They don’t know if you were laid off for business reasons (not an issue with you) or for performance (there’s an issue with you). Further they have to sell the candidate to HR and Hiring Managers who have the same mentality. So as a result they are more interested in you if you have a job already or if you hold other offers.

I had a conversation with a Navi recruiter last year and she insisted that the max notice period they are willing to consider is 15 days. So basically there is a very narrow time period in your life when you become eligible to join Navi. Given the added toxicity, they need to pay atleast double the market rate for any sensible candidate to join.

They themselves laid off people in 3 digit and the circus still continues, u never know which day cud be your last, accesses and everything are revoked in 15 mins Max 30 mins. There is no culture that this place has and to top it all they wud have a culture fitment interview as well. It's really amusing, Glassdoor reviews are a true reflection of the toxicity of this place, and toxicity at work place breeds a toxic life altogether, the only piece of advice is stay away from this place.

Thank you stars! You should be glad you aren't at Navi!

Navi has an internal policy that they will not consider layoff-ed people for a role at Navi. I think Sachin Bansal believes that it is really hard to know wether it was situational or performance based, so the idea is to ignore this pool altogether.
