Got laid off due to cost cutting

Same happened to me at my startup, I had joined this startup with no hike. I thought work might be fun, little did I know, 1.5 years later they told me my technical knowledge is good but we want product engineers yadi yada. Later I got to know they had budget problems, if I had known this I won't have accepte pip.
