Has anybody actually handled their anxiety well?

Have had low to moderate anxiety for some time now. It was at it's peak in 2021 when I joined a new job and had imposter's syndrome.

Over time, it evolved to becoming a being out anxiety. Whenever I step out, have to travel, or something like that.

It's stupid, but it affects my social experiences and effectively life.

I know I should take professional help, but asking this community to look for success stories. That will just make me feel better...

I have never come out of my stage fear. Like I will be so confident one moment but the moment I am asked to speak in front of people, I just stammer. I thought it would go away with experience but nah, still there🥲 Impacts the image I have but can’t do anything about it.

This comes with anxiety too🥹

I also have fear of public speaking, whenever I go in front of an audience, my legs would start shaking. The best way I trick my mind is with this sentence "yeh log mujhe khaenge nahi" and then go on with speaking. The fear is only for the initial minute, after that it's all good.

You should please elaborate a bit, for sake of others understanding, as to what happens when you feel anxiety. For ex, when you have to travel to a new destination, what happens, when you have to reach a specific place at specific time and you are running a bit late, how do you feel? Do you just start trembling, or do you feel your breath being faster, or do you feel breathlessness?

Due to your specific symptoms, one can comment whether it is of medical realm needing doctors attention, or is it just usual fear which many people face when doing something new.

Hey @shpinq The symptoms range - but it's most commonly some shaking, cold sweats, very high heart rate. When it stays for too long I feel like I'm blacking out.

It's also in places where I can't get out - like a car/flight/meeting rooms

It's stupid, but my brain just cannot convince itself that is is :/

Bhai Bhai Ditto, i have had issues with Anxiety since forever but yes it was actually noticeable when i started working in Jul-2021. I thought when i know things better and get settled in the job role, i would be fine but that’s not the case. As soon as the project changed, it started all over again and now it’s a cycle but i expect it to get shorter and shorter. For me, i personally think these are ways that could help temporarily, i still have extreme anxiety btw-

a. Avoid Social Media b. Avoid Overconsumption of any sort of content keep everything in moderation c. Save Money, the stronger you are financially- you will feel secure d. Don’t worry about future- dil pe haath rakh ke bolo - Dekhi Jaayegi and move on as much as possible.
Afterall, G***d hi maarlegi zindagi vaise bhi lag hi rahi hai toh just do your work and chill

Yes many including me.

  1. Seek therapy (the alternative story)
  2. Work on whatever your therapist advises to work on
  3. Become slightly physically active
  4. Take your vitamins
  5. Sun exposure
  6. Read books or podcasts to fuel hope

Thanks, doing 3-6 quite regularly But seeking therapy and working on the same is what I still need to do

I guess it became more frequent recently and a bit uncontrollable, hence I must act upon it

I reversed my anxiety issues. Took long shower Started taking vitamin D and B12 Whenever I felt I will get panic attack or Starr sweating I took a break for sometime and tried to relax my mind on my own saying everything is temporary in life Spending time playing with baby Talking with my partner Weekend devoted fully to health- getting morning sunlight, playing badminton, going for walk. Cleaning my room n organizing it.

If u r female then do hormone test as it impacts alot

After handling my anxiety for 3 months, I finally failed to handle it anymore. Had to take anti anxiety/ depression pills 💊

Stay strong. Doctors may modulate the power a bit and you can hope that gradually they will start decreasing it down and finally they may take them off. Good Luck

I have had the same issues as you. Things kind of took a turn for the worse when Covid happened and we all got locked up in our homes. When my office resumed I just couldn't make my way back to working normally as my anxiety would act up every now and then. Had panic attacks at work a couple of times and then I stopped going completely. Fortunately my manager at that time somehow handled the situation and I was able to work from home for an extended period which I hadn't asked for but he didn't mind asking me, so it went about like this for a year. It took a while for me to get accustomed to getting back to regular office again but things improved over time. I guess fresh air, sunlight and keeping myself busy helped me get out of it. That being said I'm still not completely out of the anxiety loop, and feel the same like you mentioned when being a car or being in closed spaces. But the symptoms have subsided just a tad bit for me.

I had intense travel related anxiety. This caused me to say no to lot of friends, i didn't attend any social parties that were at unknown locations. Whenever someone invited me any where, i had a sinking feeling in my stomach as if someone just stabbed me. I quickly came up with excuses.

I fixed it later on in life during my college years, I had some good quality friends who forced me to come to events. I went to my first event, i felt the anxiety. Then the second, then the third. Eventually my travel anxiety went away but im still not that social and face social anxiety at times.

Never went to any therapist thankfully

Hello viners,
