I tried, joined a company as PLG person and asked the manager if I can work on product management too. Later I started looking for a job in management.
In my POV, sticking to Growth these days (recession) would be better as I was not getting any good offers in Product management (the CTC was low as compared to my current salary; and they were hiring me for APM and not as PM even when I had 3+ years of experience in PLG)
Same company was okay to hire me as Growth Manager.
