How often do you take notes / journal?

Do you take notes? How often and what do they cover? Which app do you use? Do you have a system in place? How often do you revisit them?

I have realized I can’t remember things as well as I used to do. I tried note taking but I’m not very consistent or proficient in it. I feel I don’t need to note something down and then I forget it later. I even don’t remember that I have put something in a note or where I have written that note. All my notes are scattered over multiple apps and keep switching to new shiny app.

I use goodnotes on ipad but as a person who loves a good diary and pen feel, i end up going back to that. As a college student I open it 2-3 times a day. For noting things to be done or breaking down a problem statement I'm designing for: rewrite the problem in my words, existing solutions, their drawbacks and user feedback regarding painpoints that are already existing or have not been noticed as edgecases. Get points to design around and start from there. This surprisingly never takes more than 4-5 pages and I get my thoughts in order and a good direction to work around.

I have recently tried an app called 'Calender-Cute'. Though a lot of ads are there but it has a really nice and clean interface
