Huge rise in Bangalore rents

In and around Whitefield rents have increased more than 10k compared to last year. It's very difficult to find a good house in budget near to office and near to kid school. Salaries are not increased but cost of living is touching the sky. Is it same overall Bangalore?

Keep voting for congress, it will help with cost reduction by giving away free bus and 2k per home.

Oh please, as if rents were low with the previous govt. Blame BBMP and the lack of tenant friendly laws in the country.

Political party don’t decide rent. Inflation and RE price does. Tenant friendly policy? What is that

As a house owner I hardly get a good renter. Everybody talks like we make millions from the rent. They want a fresh coat of paint even if there are very minimal scratches. The demands are unreasonable every year. Just because they pay rent, most will talk like they are doing a favour in renting that house. No courtesy, no respect. Off late people and thier woke /liberal credentials are irritating to the core.

The exorbitant rent is totally reasonable. Infact it should be at least 25% higher for the headache

Bangalore is the only city I've seen so far, where the landlords deduct 1 month rent in the name of "painting charges". And god forbid there are some minor scratches, say goodbye to your deposit (which is also exorbitant for no reason at all). So a fresh coat of paint is the least you can do. And let's be real, it doesn't even cost that much.

This is absolutely true. Recently shifted to Bangalore from Mumbai a couple of months ago. Expected Bangalore rent to be much cheaper than Mumbai but it's almost the same. In fact people are asking for security deposits to the tune of 6 months rent even for unfurnished flats(which was hardly 2-3 months in Mumbai even for furnished ones). Security deposits are generally paid in full (except for 2-3k deduction) in all metro cities but here they keep 1month rent as painting and cleaning charges which God knows when they do.

How is there no correlation to layoffs and Real Estate?

We've witnessed so many layoffs in the past year and this continues to be an upward trend. Bangalore is a city of IT professionals and these layoffs seem to have no effect on the real estate. Is this because the numbers are negligent? ...
