I have almost completely stopped relating to people in jobs πΆβπ«οΈ
I rarely find people actually happy with their job. They're mostly either overworked or underpaid or both. Not enough time for family or self. Planning vacations months in advance because leaves need to be applied for. Away from parents and community, compromising with health and living standards.
This seems to be the norm with most entry to mid level career folks. Senior and experienced people are mostly sorted in some way or another.
I almost feel guilty that I have the privilege to travel whenever I want and spend more time with friends and family. I don't earn a lot right now through my business ventures, but the peace of mind and freedom that i get in exchange is worth it for me.
I just wish I could help more people start something of their own and eventually quit jobs. But so many people have convinced themselves that they just can't be founders or business owners for xyz reasons. And those who do show interest, mostly tend to disappear in a few weeks/months, again for various reasons.
Ironic, for a country full of highly skilled freelancers.
U should hang out with people like me who r sorted due to prioritization of tasks and setting expectations right. I live a good life. We r social animals we should relate to more people.
Look at the other side. You people who are in business.
Sad and monotonic routine of getting in the shop, slogging your asses and soul from 8am-10pm. Have to deal with under skilled employees who will leave your shop/business if the other person offers βΉ1,000 more in salary.
Get to save, but no interesting place to spend in your tier-2 tier-3 towns. Kids will grow up in backward places and talk/think like backward people you grew up with.
When they reach their teenage years, their super hero will be your locality's neta-bhaiya with 1000x tAsHaN.
For fancy education/medical treatment, you will have to keep running back to our tier-1 cities.
When we people look at you guys, we wish we could help you people, but sadly most of you never looked far ahead and were just happy with "mei kisi k liye kaam nahi karunga" crap.
You have some weird stereotypes and assumptions for some reason buddy, i don't even have an office or shop. I am purely WFH with no employees π
Social, raasta , farzi cafe etc are open now in most tier 2-3 cities. Plenty of pubs and clubs in my town too.
I'd rather homeschool my children anyways if i ever have em. I can do much better than schools and their syllabus. Got plenty of time too :)
Basic medical stuff is mostly sorted in most tier 2-3 towns as well through hospitals and chains like max, doctors from tier 1 also visit occasionally for complex cases.
Can always travel to tier 1 cities every month or so for whatever purposes with all the extra savings because cost of living is literally half or one third of tier 1 cities. Plus quality of air and water is mostly better too.
I rest my case. Plenty of benefits to living outside tier 1 cities. The same infra and crowd is coming there too.
Please don't feel sad for us, we're good
I am happy with my Job and pretty sure many others too are. I mean there are usual ups and downs, but nothing so bad that I feel fed up in any way. As long as the work culture is not toxic, work is a bit relatable and pays well, one should be happy. May be happy is a wrong word, being βcontentβ is more precise word. I donβt want to be entrepreneur, never had any interest about startup/business etc, I donβt want to jump too high into salary bracket. I do wish to join more renowned organisations gradually, but no hurry. There is money being earned through a work where I can relate, enough savings in account and enough financial capability to go visit any place I wish to visit, what more can one wish for!
That's great, happy for you π
Can you help me build a freelancer career?
I'm not a coder bro, i don't think I can help you with it.
That being said, there's always people looking for freelance coders for various things. It's a big market, give it a try, see how it goes.
Thank you for your kind words. BTW, I'm not a coder either. I work in the electronics design domain.
I am very happy to find someone who is actually happy , Would love to talk to you in DM. I am also staying away from my parents and community due to my job but I guess that's the price you have to pay to be somewhere in life. I am earning well and have a social life outside my work but i always feel it could be better. I honestly think getting a remote job would help me a lot to get there.
