Open source contribution!!
Are you guys contributing to open source? Are there any good open source projects specially in Spring Boot.
Also Open source contribution gives me an edge over others in interviews?
I haven’t contributed to open source once so far. I have 5 yrs of work experience in ML engineering. I have this FOMO for not contributing
Will this affect my future career prospects?
In order to join product companies (both FAANG & Startups) do I have to have open source contributions?
If I were to contribute how should I tell recruiters about it (should I mention it in my resume and how should I mention it)

Don’t think about it. OS is not for everybody.
That being said do keep looking to solve problems you might face on a day to day basis with code. That could be tooling, maintaining a deprecated library that your work requires, etc.
Might become the next best thing 🤷🏻♂️
Its better not to contribute rather than changing the readme file in Github.

I felt like doing this AMA since, recently, students and experienced folks are being lured by 'paid' open-source courses. Feel free to ask any questions without paying any $$$. I won't respond to questions which could potentially dox me ...
At what point does college name stops mattering? Is there a way to speed up career advancement if you're not from a tier 1 college?
