I’ve recently seen a lot of negative news about Bangalore

The gov, the discrimination and increasing crime rates…. I’ve been observing this for a while now…

What’s the experience of people actually living there?

Is it really as bad as news outlets are presenting it? Or it’s just an exaggeration?

I’ve been wanting to find a job in blr and move there since a while now but news like these concern me.

As a localite, I must say... Yes the roadrage part is absolutely true. Even I am scared sometimes after hearing these news.

Secondly, the discrimination only happens when people behave rudely with the locals. Its not like people actively hate you at sight. Its a very welcoming city. But when people come around and say "Hey speak in Hindi, I can't understand your Kannad" They would be tempted to smack you with anything in their hand's reach. People who moved here have assumed that the kindness shown to them as weakness/ inferiority complex. Now Kannadigas don't hesitate to call out the attitude.

So if you make an attempt to blend in with the people, try to converse in their language, they will care for you like their own family.

But landlords are a different breed. They will suck every ounce of money from you. Doesn't matter if you are a Kannadiga or not.

Its a very livable city. If it was really bad, people would have already moved out in masses. But on the contrary even Zepto wants to move offices to Bangalore. So thats that.
