IGDTUW peeps, just enjoy your privilege and stop confronting frustrated peeps

So, recently there is a surge of peeps from igdtuw posting about their placement and internship in LinkedIn Twitter(congratulations). And there are a lot of arguments and confrontations going on about diversity hiring, recession proof college, etc. But what bothers me are people that are frustrated (even tough I understand the frustration) and tweeting shit like girls are getting opportunity only because of diversity hiring and all, bro are you dumb or what, no company would hire a liability, they might hire intern randomly but it's close to impossible to convert it in full time ( if you got no skills or required skills).

Now there are some peeps from igdtuw confronting in a very rude and dumb way of showing how low the bar was for their qualification and test. One user tweeted something like "some boys crying about diversity hiring but are busy writing just Hello world" like behen at least write busy in reversing linkedlist.

There is a girl (unnati) working at Zomato, she is giving gyan about how hard it was for her and how hard she worked for it, her GitHub is dry lake and the 1 year she was very active on GitHub( all of them were DSA question solved) that's it, she participated in a hackathon and got podium finish (i think), the only reason she was in the hackathon group was because there is a mandatory rule for one female member. all this is fine as life is unfair but the best you can do is not preach toxic positivity "ki karte karo ho jaayega" behen tu kab Kiya ye to bata?

And some girls are feeling guilty of their privilege, so the best way to not feel guilt of your privilege is to enjoy your privilege to your max potential. without showing your arrogance maybe.

All these shit are even tolerable because everyone is unique with different minds, different opinions, but those positivity ke dalal are the worst who are still saying karte raho ho jaayega and all.Peeps like unnati

I am practicing to become more articulate, so feedbacks are welcome.

All women talking about career progression will be labelled diversity. Can't change how the majority thinks

That's one of the cons of patriarchy, people can't digest women doing the same work with efficiency as their male counterpart

It’s not patriarchy. Although at this point, only patriarchy existed so everything good or bad can be blamed on patriarchy.

The reason is simple. Some women got freebies, justified or not, and since there is no way to tell who did, most get labeled with the same brush. Companies hired then for a pr win rather than competence, this is just an unintended consequence. Every preferential treatment brings this kind of outcomes. Like it or not.

If you are expecting Twitter to be sensible, you are equally foolish :)

Who is not foolish in this world? Do you know someone smart in all aspects of life?

At first I thought IGDTUW is something in the lines of IDGAF.

Turns out it isn't.

I still DGAF.

I’m all in for diversity hiring as women have more hoops to cross to get an education, to get a work permit from parents/partners, being a primary caregiver of their children. On top of this they also get uncomfortable stares from people in metro/busses,etc. A growing minority in India are treated equally as boys & I respect such parents & families.

That being said, I feel that orgs should pay them equally and realise when the diversity quotas are achieved. We have to give them support to grow and not a wheelchair. Gender doesn’t decide EMI rates thankfully and many a times men also have some hoops to cross & personal choices to sacrifice.

I’ve heard some female recruiter(yes women often don’t back up women) from an MNC that women have X% lesser attrition than men, this goes to show how shallow most corporates’ words can be when it comes to the true intent behind diversity hiring.

Diversity hiring is a must for diverse opinions and ideas. Full support to it.
