Intern didn’t reveal that she was pregnant till she got converted to full time and gave one week notice for the maternity leave

It’s funny what she pulled off

Arguably he didn't pull off in time. That method anyways doesn't work.

On a serious note - ML is a legal entitlement. The communication gap can be a cause of disappointment, but hardly a cause for you to attribute motive.

You have to ask yourself - would you have made her a FTE if she had told you earlier?

Definitely they would have rejected her on the spot.

Unpopular opinion, this law is there to protect the vulnerable, however seems to benefit most techies making 50L+ who will use it as paid vacation after 3m of joining a company.

Some folk have ample help, expensive nannies, and supportive families. On top of that they get 5L per month in support.

+will ask for a 10% hike after coming back to office.

I'm not sure if in such cases we are supporting society or being taken advantage of.

You should try birthing a child.

Let us know how the vacation was. Send photos and postcards.

I don't think you are capable of speaking about this topic rationally.

It's sad that women have to go through such tricks just to get support through pregnancy in our country. Lucky for her.

My wife herself didnt reveal about pregnancy before she got a project assigned in her consultancy company.

To be eligible for maternity leave you need to work continuously for 80 days in a year. That is what the law states but the companies can have their own policy.
