Internal Email: Google Employees arrested and fired for protests
Googlers,
You may have seen reports of protests at some of our offices yesterday. Unfortunately, a number of employees brought the event into our buildings in New York and Sunnyvale. They took over office spaces, defaced our property, and physically impeded the work of other Googlers. Their behavior was unacceptable, extremely disruptive, and made co-workers feel threatened. We placed employees involved under investigation and cut their access to our systems. Those who refused to leave were arrested by law enforcement and removed from our offices.
Following investigation, today we terminated the employment of twenty-eight employees found to be involved. We will continue to investigate and take action as needed.
Behavior like this has no place in our workplace and we will not tolerate it. It clearly violates multiple policies that all employees must adhere to — including our Code of Conduct and Policy on Harassment, Discrimination, Retaliation, Standards of Conduct, and Workplace Concerns.
We are a place of business and every Googler is expected to read our policies and apply them to how they conduct themselves and communicate in our workplace. The overwhelming majority of our employees do the right thing. If you’re one of the few who are tempted to think we’re going to overlook conduct that violates our policies, think again. The company takes this extremely seriously, and we will continue to apply our longstanding policies to take action against disruptive behavior — up to and including termination.
You should expect to hear more from leaders about standards of behavior and discourse in the workplace.

Pro Palestine doesn't mean Pro Hamas but Pro Israel does mean Pro Genocide and Pro Colonialism. Big Tech supporting a Genocide isn't a small issue.
With the kind of comments on this post. This confirms that being rich or being good in coding does not guarantee basic intellect and critical thinking as to what is right and wrong. Mindless robots working for companies in these comments. These Employees should get respect for standing against their company and for what they think is wrong. But it is okay, most people part of this modern day corporate slavery would not understand.
Never bring your political agendas into workplace/business. On the other hand, Google is to blame too. All their stupid policies regarding diversity and inclusion invites a recipe for disaster.
If someone is paying you to do some work, don't picket their office. Isn't that Common Sense 101?

Good grief the lack of social awareness in these comments. Technology has enabled genocide on a large scale forever - it is said that the Holocaust would have been impossible without IBM's punch card computing making records of Jews to be collected and executed efficient.
Likewise the IDF fanbois here clearly fail to realise that what Isr*el is doing is dehumanising Gazans - painting even defenceless women and children as threats and wiping them mercilessly, and hiding behind "technological limits" as excuses for inaccuracy. If anything, their tech is not really inaccurate - and though classified it's pretty likely the technical gee whiz to indiscriminately exterminate a whole ethnicity is running on Google & Amazon's cloud CPUs/GPUs/TPUs.
That is what these employees are fighting for, and if your politics allows you to make you comfortable with the defenceless and the innocent being wiped out in the name of your political views/religious nationalism, look at yourself deep in the mirror.
There's plenty of online reporting btw about IDF's classified use of AI models to target and kill Gazans. That technology is impossible to not have cutting edge AI computing sold on military contract by G, A and possibly other Silicon Valley giants.
Well said, US politics is greatly influenced by the apartheid, genocidal state of !srael. US State department repeats the propaganda invented by the !sreali government, and the media and tech conglomerates promote it, till it's everywhere, overshadowing the truth of what's really going on there for the last 70 years or so.
