internal job switch to US position in Microsoft

Is it true that employees in Microsoft india can apply for US open positions and switch to US after completing 2 years in India?

Only after a certain position. I believe it's Software Engineer 3 (don't remember exactly) and only if the team overseas is ready to take you(interviews happen for it).

You won't go there with H1B, rather L1 visa(it's restrictive, you can't switch companies)

So anyone who gets transferred to US via microsoft cannot switch easily on that visa. But the company hiring them next can sponsor h1b for them
