ISB vs IIM ABC
Hey All! How is ISB Tag valued in the job market in comparison to IIM Tag and for what roles ISB is better than IIM ABC ?
How is ISB managing to substantially increase the avg CTC of its cohorts, year after year.
Pls don’t believe in reports posted by B-schools. There is a lot of tweaking on that data.
B-schools do it to get traction otherwise “fees kaun dega”??
P.S. : passed out from one of the top 10 MBA colleges and have seen this in motion.
It’s best to get the number from someone whom you know personally or via friend of friends.
Believe me, mein bhi paiso ke picche bhaga tha… doesn’t work out… 9 of my batchmates didn’t get placed. They didn’t opt out..
Damn. And how are they planning to payback the 50L edu loan after not getting placed from ISB?
They eventually got a job after passing out but didn’t get the “flashy” packages.
IMO, you should only do a MBA if you’re looking at total role change and aren’t able to do so otherwise. And also select colleges based on what function you would want to specialise in and would be a great Fitment for your skills.
I love that a lot of foreign institutions ask for min 5 years of work-ex to be considered before applying.
ISB is a lot more than just a placement school.
If you are interested in education even a wee bit, they have literally the best professors you'll find in India. Even if you're coming from Ace top 5 undergrad colleges in India, you'll still find a remarkable difference there. I would happily get up for the 8am lecture to get Gyan from such interesting profs.
Peer group is pretty amazing. You'll find all sorts of people there and you can easily find your tribe.
Placements are decent, my guess is you should get something between 25-30lpa base for most jobs. There can be outliers for sure.
I graduated from there a few years back. It's a fun experience. It's the closest to a global experience you can get in India.
Is it admission time at BSB? Because it's trending everyday
Yeah, round 1 deadline just passed by
I thought both caters to different type of audiences....ABC is more for <2 years experienced folks and ISB for >3-4 years of experience
ISB has progressively lowered its minimum experience requirement for the PGP.
And IIMs ABC have up to 30-40% of people with > 2 years of experience.
Beyond 3-4 years of experience, it's a toss up whether one wants to go for a 2 year or a 1 year programme.
I agree with the assertion that hardly anyone gives up an ABC admit for ISB. Those who claim to have done so would most likely have received an admit to the 1 year Exec MBAs (which are comparable to the ISB 1 year programme) or other programmes like Agribusiness or Sustainability.
Why do they charge bomb when compared to others if the pay isn't similar
I think it has to do with their placement record. It's more of a placement school imo. Hence I am perplexed how do they pull it off year after year
They do? What's the starting pay like? 30-40? Have heard who start with 18-22 too

What kind of salaries can someone expect with 0-5 years of experience after an MBA from ISB???
Started working in 2017 (Graduation: Tier 2 College) in hand salary: 28K per Month. Worked for 2.5yrs, had big dreams, didn’t knew what to do, how do I 10x my salary, saw my manager 40yrs old earning 25LPA in the same company. Realised ...
Are you considering 72L esops of razorpay as your own networth? 🤔🤔
