Late 20s Issues

Do all late 20s (28-29 years) men face the same issues mentioned below?

  1. Parents getting old- you don't want to see your loved ones getting old
  2. Single earning member
  3. Staying away from parents sucks as they need us more now.
  4. Paying rent 30-40% of total in-hand salary in metro cities.
  5. Less friends, even if you have more friends you don't want to express what you are going through.
  6. No emergency fund- Agar koi emergency ayi to dosto ko paise mangne padenge.
  7. Job switch - As the market is unstable, so you're afraid to switch and get laid off.
  8. You want everyone around you to be happy, as your happiness depends on their happiness.
  9. Unable to express what you are going through to people around you (wife, parents, friends, relatives etc)
  10. Happy Wife Happy Life - You try to do things out of the box (which is beyond your reach) because it makes her happy.
  11. What about our happiness?
  12. Many more....

I'm going through this now. Sometimes I feel like I should talk to a person (who is anonymous to me and I'm anonymous to him/her) and express everything that is depressing me.

Don’t give up man. I know living in this world is shit. I contemplate on this everyday. Trust me, life gets better when you start avoiding screen time and start exercising on a regular basis. Most of our problems (especially mental wellness) arises only because of gadgets and lack of movements. We were good till our parents compared ourselves with our neighbors now it has been scaled upto 1000x after social media stepped in. Listen to Andrew Huberman’s podcast on Dopamine stack.

It's been more than 8 months since I
used any social media. I've been working out since 2014 but not regularly, like 4 months on and 2 months off. I've stopped watching whatsapp status 2 years ago. For my media consumption, I use prime and YouTube. I still stand for my word. This Fking world is shit. And I know how to wipe it. 😏 Still, my hands are not long enough to reach it 🤣🤣.

@Sulphur, thanks for your response

Simple solution, get a maid and a cook, invest your time in learning, get a more good job, get money, you'll notice everything coming back to place. I'm in this state and i know how it feels, and I'm unmarried but 25. I dont even have own house, we live in rented one and my parents depend on me. So i found only way out is to get more money. It can solve 100% of my problems.

Apart from the wife part, I can relate to each and every point. It’s not only you. There are many people like us going through the same shit.

My Funda is better emotionless.. 😃

You can keep your parents with you but then ur wife will not be happy with the decision and that too is fine at her place.

Until or unless parents give privacy to their children but no they won't ...

So be emotional less..

Do all men go through this? Noo. Happens only to those middle class folks hoping to cross over the current/family situation someday. Can’t take risk much. Worry not. Things will change for good. Don’t lose your persistence.

It is what it is. You can't do much about it. Just find solace in the little things

Really scary to get into my late 20s. Will be in my late 20s in like 3-4 years. I don't relate to most of the things yet. But I have a feeling I will come across all this.

I can already relate to staying far away from my parents, paying high rents and low emergency funds.
