I don’t see anything wrong with this. It’s clear that the agenda is not to give additional leave benefit, but to normalise women taking period leaves. At present, women usually use a different reason (headache/fever/backache etc) to apply for leave, while the actual reason is period pain/discomfort. Not every step is meant for a material benefit, you have to see the intangible value to the society.

You aren't guaranteed to fall sick for a week every month. Women are. Giving them extra leaves hurts no one.
It hurts the business. Get less pay and fall sick. If you are productive only 90% of the working day, get 90% salary. "Equality" comes with equal responsibility

I just gave an interview for PM here and the interview was with the Product lead. Random questions and upon asking about stability, he said that it all depends on you as we're a competitive environment.
I don't understand what's wrong with the stability part? You are a team not a family. If you don't perform you should be out.
Wrong the way he answered it. A lot of red flags. He said that some people leave in 3 months too. A lot of other things. Performance shouldn't mean that I should work 12 hours a day for my job. If the job is 9 hours, I should be judged on 9 hours and not relative to someone who is working 12 hours.
This is just a part of the increasing trend to be a virtue signalling woke. Women don't need special period leaves. Period. If women need them, let's not call ourselves equal with men.
Imagine being your balls being tugged on very hard every week for 5 days, where you can’t sit, stand or breathe at times and you still have to work straight for 8 hours minimum a day, sitting on that goddam table?
