Micro Manager

I have a senior in my team who considers herself a manager, when she's not. She's just my senior. She will ping me 100 times in a day and delegate me more tasks before even before the first one is complete. She knows nothing about how work is done as she keeps delegating it to others. If I don't respond she keeps calling and she calls me in the middle of the night too. I have a really cool manager who doesn't ping me daily, will only ask for the deliverables on the deadline. I would have ignored my senior as she's not really the manager but she is the manager's pet. I have seen her delegate tasks to her seniors as well. It's been only a month since I have joined. Any advice on how do I deal with this? It's getting really frustrating.

My 2 cents: don't suffer because of such a-holes, bring this up with your manager. I'm assuming your manager doesn't know about these extra tasks that the senior hands you, which is unfair to you because your manager will be under the impression that you're stocked with work within your capacity, not beyond it. Or maybe next time she wants to delegate something to you, ask your manager directly if you're supposed to pick up the extra task since you're already well stocked with work. Something like: "Hey Manager, A-hole has asked me to work on X but I don't have any bandwidth to pick this up in addition to my current deliverables Y and Z. Can you please help me out here?" Let's see how that goes, then we'll think of dealing with whatever your manager's response happens to be.

No problem, @MadCat001 :) Remember that you gotta look out for yourself by setting your own boundaries

Stay calm and dont panic just let you're manager know this is what is happening and rage out if nothing seems to be in you're favour . It's been a old custom to make the innocents suffer
