Is Salary Discussion Allowed?
In India, can we discuss our salary, compensation plan with our colleague? Is there any generic policy for the same in India location?
Why is it considered vulgar to talk about money in India? What implications does it have for corporate culture?
Idk what India you're talking about man, I wfh and every aunt and uncle ask me about my salary as the very second question after asking my company name. The salary hiding thing is more prevalent in corporates maybe. Also, this salary and money no-no talk culture is more prevalent in the west. In Germany (and maybe Europe in general) people consider it rude when asked about salary.
Outside of the company is rampant...blatant...audacious...
Within the company, it's best not spoken or discussed. Just my view.

It's a very Indian mindset to treat or look down upon people who make a lot of money. We find some or the other reason to bring them down. We call them names. Though most of our life problems can be solved by money.
