Mumbai: a tech hub?
Do you guys think that Mumbai is a tech hub too? If yes, why? If not, does it have the potential?

Mumbai is not primarily known as a tech hub. It is more sought after as financial hub.
However, it does have tech companies and offers employment opportunities in the tech sector. The tech scene in Mumbai is not as vibrant as in cities like Bangalore or Gurgaon.
Mumbai lacks the potential to become a tech hub because of various factors such as investment in tech infrastructure, policies to attract tech companies, and availability of tech talent.
Mumbai is an overpopulated, over-hyped slum city. It can never meet the aspirations of the global experienced tech crowd. If not for stock exchange history even the financial crowd would have left that place.
Mumbai won't be a tech hub for the fresher type junta mostly bcuz of the cost factor unless they have their base there, however for all the top companies peeps with >5,6 years will be found in Mumbai if the company has HQ there like many others
Mumbai will never be a tech hub per se. It's the hub for all types of business, so unlike other cities tech isn't the only game in town. This is how it's played out in other countries. In the US, cities like San Francisco and Seattle are tech hubs but New York still has a big tech industry. My guess is this is how it plays out in India with cities like Bangalore and Hyderabad as tech hubs and Mumbai similar to New York
A lot of tech parks are coming up in the suburbs; especially Navi Mumbai. Rents are low for companies and employees. There are also IT parks in Goregaon and SEEPZ.
Mumbai is mostly a financial and film city. Top banks ate present here. Some of them have moved their tech teams to Bangalore.
