Govt of India
My review of GE in Bangalore
I’ve been working as a SWE for GE in Bangalore for nearly two years. First of all the WLB and culture here is incredible. I honestly can’t believe how great the WLB is over here, I work maybe 20 hours a week on average and am rarely ever stressed about anything. They’re not strict about WFO so I can chill at home most of the time. No fixed timings and I also get a ton of leaves. There’s no micromanagement and the culture is chill and professional. Perks are about average for any large MNC. We have a beautiful company campus with plenty of car parking space for everyone.
Obviously your mileage may vary depending on the your team, it’s possible I just got lucky.
The only con is that the pay is shit. Fresher SWEs are paid around 12 LPA while seniors might earn around 30. Not possible to earn 60+ unless you’re in a leadership position.
Pay is shit....fresher gets paid 12l.........kids these days man don't understand.........
Indians need to raise their salary expectations. 12 LPA is indeed a pittance compared to most other countries and even other companies within India
"kids these days" if you're a F2 driver, your aim will be competing with F1 drivers and not regular Uber drivers. Just because your standard of success is lower than somebody else's standards of success it doesn't mean the other person is unreasonable. Everybody has their own standards, 12 lpa is heaven for many and shit for many, op belongs to the 2nd category. Don't hate on someone for having bigger dreams than you
12 lpa is shit for freshers? Man people on Grapevine have such high expectations
13LPA is now middle class. source: SBI survey
Also sharing Nirmala Ji’s hot take.
13 LPA for a fresher is middle class salary 😂? I guess people who grew up in tier-1 cities never realised what is life beyond metro cities.
Bhai I am 2 yoe I will work for 12 lpa at such chill wlb can u please refer me to your company
12lpa for 20 hours of work isn't a con it's being severely overpaid.
Lol GE is a slow company. Used to he top tier in yesteryears. Not anymore. So decent pay and great wlb go hand in hand.
You didnt know?
