Is it okay to invest 20k just on rent for 1bhk in Kondapur considering my in-hand salary is 74k per month. No loans.
If the location and area is according to you then its okay. I myself pay 27k for 2bhk.
It is on a high tension road in Kondapur and space is actually big.
Do you share with anyone?

Any reco near Gachibowli near us consulate area?
Nope
What is the max amount on rent you advise?
15% of salary
In your case rent at max should be 15k but again it is dependent on your preference, if you want to a good place to stay then the rent will obviously be higher. May be try to increase your income would be my suggestion 😜
Ideally it shouldn't be more than 15% of your salary. Spending so much on accommodation is useless to be honest if you are staying alone. But it depends on other things like if you have wfh then you can chose to stay a bit far from office, if not then you have little choice but to pay.
