No work coming to my team

I'm a 2022 graduate working in as an analyst in a service based analytics firm. For the past 1-1.5 we have been getting close to no work from our client (avg. actual work 2hr/day) but I have to fulfill 8 hours and stay late for meetings sometimes. I'm looking for suggestions on how to make better use of my time in office since switching right now is not easy.

My suggestion would be to pick up some side project, and develop it really well.

Showcase it as your portfolio in the interviews.

Side project should add more value to whatever your current skill set is

Sure. I have started working on more technical skills which I don't get to work on in my current role.

The company hired you is waiting patiently for work to come, you seniors are deliberately keeping u all in loop and sit for 8hrs so the regional shouldn't axe your team mates for sake of pre recession..
