Not a regular post !

It all started on a beautiful afternoon, December 8th, 2023—a day that felt like the culmination of so many dreams. After years of hard work, sacrifices, and planning, my family and I were finally able to call a place our own. We got our first home, registered in our name. It was everything we had hoped for, made possible by my savings, my dad’s contributions, and a home loan. That day felt like the start of a new chapter for us.

But just a month later, everything changed. On January 12th, 2024, I was laid off from my job. The shock and uncertainty that followed have been overwhelming. Since then, I’ve applied to over 3,000 jobs—on LinkedIn, Naukri, Indeed, you name it. But so far, I’ve only had 8 HR screening calls and the usual - "will get back to you soon".

As the days go by, my financial situation keeps getting worse. I’m struggling to keep up with the EMIs and the constant calls from banks feel like they're drowning me. To survive, I started driving for Swiggy with a friend and started sending cold emails to anyone who might have a lead. Eventually, I got a freelance consultant role with 2 companies (with same founding team), only to be left unpaid (still following up with them).

It’s been nearly a year now, and I’m at the point where I’ll take any job, any role, any salary—just enough to cover my basic needs and keep a roof over my head.

A little about me: I don’t come from an IIM background— have a B.Tech from a decent college and a strong will to learn new things, with 9 years of experience in Sales, Growth, PnL, and Business. Never imagined I’d be in this situation, but here I am, still hoping for a chance.
