Oracle cloud SDE 2 or Coinbase SDE 2

Hi guys I recently got offer from these 2 companies. I needed suggestion on which one to join. YOE - 3.5 Given that - Oracle cloud -

  1. Provides WLB
  2. Wfh / hybrid. Mostly WFH
  3. A bit less learning opportunity
  4. Fair pay
  5. Job security is more here

Coinbase -

  1. Exceptionally good pay
  2. Bad WLB
  3. Chances of getting fired if not performed well.
  4. Competitive bar is more high

Also if someone over here can tell how is the work culture at coinbase.

Please correct me if I am wrong in any of the above points.

TC - Oracle OCI 41 base 8 Joining bonus 16lacs RSUs per year with yearly vesting CTC - 61LPA

Coinbase Base pay 42.80 Other compensation 7.2 RSU - 22 lacs per year with quarterly vesting

Highly depends on what you're looking for. If WLB and job security matters a lot to you, if you're the sole earning member of the family then I'd say go for Oracle.

If learning new techs and keeping up to date with technologies matters the most to you then Oracle isn't the company for you.

Oracle is also a good company to settle down with if you're content with your knowledge and with the money you'll be earning because Hikes here are scarce.

I am definitely looking for a stable job because looking at the current market situation I don’t think joining somewhere where there is no job security can be fruitful. The kind of money which I am getting at oracle is also okay I would say.

One of my friends was in Oracle for 2 years. I will say security is there but there is no learning opportunity at all as the products are pretty stable there and there are hardly 1 or 2 new features. Also, they have in-house technologies which will not be used in the outside world when you plan to change your job. Also, when he switched to Visa now, Visa offered him less because Oracle will not give hike or promotion until you spend good amount of time.

There is no hike in coinbase as well bro. Yes the tech is good and learning opportunities are immense

You are young. Invest in yourself. Coinbase should be good. Don't settle for low quality low learning job at Oracle. It gets boring after sometime. Their product is well established so nothing new to do.

How is work and pay at coinbase?

I am not so interested in crypto or web3 startups.I got reached multiple times for SSE position and thought of giving it a shot by having an exploratory call. I am more focused on having a good WLB with a decent pay for my experience. E...
