What kind of side projects can backend engineers include in resume/ work on like during weekends? I don't wanna know machine learning model and layer of API over it. I have been thinking for quite sometime now to start some side hustle to make some passive money. I just want to develop some interest apart from primary work as a software engineer. Something I can work on over the coming years. Do you have a side hustle? Looking for some ideas.

Hi, I am a 2023 graduate and currently working in a product based startup in Indiranagar. When I came to Bangalore a few months ago, it was all fun and exciting. I still love my work (working in multiple tech stacks). But somehow life outside the work has become somewhat boring. I do go on bike ride trips but again can't go every weekend. I play badminton and cricket sometimes but still feel bored sometimes. I don't go to clubs as I don't drink and smoke. Would love if you folks can suggest something?

I am currently working as Backend Developer. I had decent projects but if we see today's trend they are just backend serving some APIs. I was thinking to learn generative AI and Lang chain. Can someone tell me some idea of project that I can build side by side for my resume. Also, how's the idea of learning about generative AI and langchain?
