Please guide me
I am a fresher. Currently in 4th year Engg, I'm currently interning at a US Medical Devices giant Things here are so over the top I've been assigned a task for a codebase I have no idea about. It's been three days and I have been giving the same update on my scrum calls
I'm extremely new to this corporate environment, and have already started feeling demotivated. Can someone please help me out
VS code search option could help you. 1.Understand the task. 2.Search related terms over the codebase 3.Try understand the module or code flow 4.After that try to see where you can add the required changes.
Ask for help, no shame in that.
Yeah, I am beginning to realise this. Ever since my college life, I wrote code myself without much help from someone else, just used Google. This kinda developed a guilt in me whenever I have to ask someone from help. Turns out this is a part of the process. Thanks a lot!
Ask for help either from colleagues (if they are friendly or helpful) or from AI tools (if they're allowed). Good ones are Cursor IDE, Codium and Github Copilot.
Yeah I am beginning to realise this
Faced the same thing here at Amazon. I will tell you, you will get it eventually. Just keep reading the codebase and try to figure it out. Early 2022, ChatGPT wasn't around but I still did it. You would do it too. And yes, ask for help!
Early 2022 when I was interning and was extremely new to everything. I also didn't know Java. I coded in Python. And suddenly I was thrust into this production grade codebase written in Java.
