Rant
I had to go switch house this month and man! It's such a troubling process. My sleep is gone just because of the process - everyone is trying to rip you off - broker, landlords, everyone.
WTH is 1.5L deposit for a 2BHK and why are rents doubling every 2 years! On top of that they'll deduct 1 month of rent + something from deposit. And then you just pray that you'll get it back.
I'm just trying to recover from it and the process isn't done yet. I am a north Indian and at this point I just agree with the Kanadigas - let's get the hell out of here. It's not only making their lives harder but ours as well.
Companies should seriously think about decentralisation and WFH. The level of mental toll it has taken on my in past week is immeasurable.
Feels like I'm throwing lakhs and lakhs into the drain.
PS: Don't give Gyan in comments. If you want to, read the title of the post again
The alternative is to buy a house. But that's like saying get a kid even when you are in a toxic relationship and hope everything gets allright in the future. We need companies to have WFH which ain't gonna happen. We need better civic infrastructure which ain't gonna happen. We need rent control in India which again ain't gonna happen.
So what do we do?
I am aggressively making investments to get out of this race and just shift to our village in the next 10 years with my family.
On point.
