r/bangalore mods are on some next level power trip š
Someone made a post about r/bangalore mods being too strict and the post got 100+ upvotes in a few hrs. But all the people who supported the opinion got perma banned, including me š Make a pg-13 joke, ban. Support anything anti-mod, ban. Well at least now i know where the humour police hangs out. Modding here on Grapevine has been considerably better I feel.
Fuck. I thought it was only me.
Bro I have posted on r/Bangalore only 2-3 times, and genuine stuff.
They ban anything randomly, and when you reach out to them for clarification, they don't even have the courtesy to reply.
Genuine power trip. And to ban all users for liking a post is just fucked up.
It is genuinely not how to run a community. Like you can get banned for not even violating any policy. There is no way to appeal also because they are judge, jury, executioner
I tried to reason with them saying this is not how you run a sub and one should be open to take criticism and got a response that "his is not a democratic forum" and that actions have consequences.
Not sure how to over turn the permaban when it's run by people like this.

Have heard this many times about R/Bangalore mods. They are dictators.
Feel same way about R/devIndia

The subReddit is hardly useful tbh. I feel like I just see incidents of mugging and how depressing the city is.
True. Itās a news portal with only one angle. Too few useful & interesting discussions.
r/Bangalore mods are the lite version of r/India mods. In general, reddit isn't what it used to be.

lol theyāre the worst moderated sub on Reddit. Itās run by a bunch of hormonal teenagers. Just a bunch of trigger happy kids that live to shit on the city and ban people for the silliest of reasons.
Ironically their profile shows weird comments that theyāve made and I wonder how theyāve become mods.
The posts on that subreddit usually goes "I moved to Bangalore 2 weeks, my girlfriend broke up with me, Is Bangalore weather changing relationship patterns? Hate Bangalore"...
Couple of my friends have also told me this. At this point iām just going to lurk and not say anything
U/bhodrolok is the biggest leftist idiot I've seen. He mods R/India too. Put anything pro-BJP or positive about the current govt, you'll face a ban or post gets deleted.

Same experience, r/bangalore is a circle jerk , i don't even know how can people get an ego trip from being the mod of an anonymous platform.
Lowest of the low
I also got banned and a message to the mods only elicited responses which looked like it was being written by a school going kid. We need to make this go viral on Twitter/insta etc to gain traction about how stupid the sub is being run by.
They banned me for asking something. I don't remember, but it doesn't come under any violation, that's for sure. The reason they gave is its a common question, and its not related to bangalore, hence banned.
They took my post down, I was asking if it's appropriate to ask girls out in malls
Now I understand why my white friends were amazed that I didn't get offended for their small jokes and my other fellow brown friends did for everything. Our citizens are softies.
Same here posted one time I was banned for one month ... It was something about all names being manjunath in blore and I said the post is kind of insensitive and I was banned for 30 days !

That subreddit is the most uptight I've come across. They can't stand a single piece of criticism for them or this trash can of a city.
They're like the city version of "if you don't like it, go to pakistan" people.
Got banned for saying something PG 13 but not woke. That's the reason why I never take reddit seriously. Anon nerds that never found anything better to do who get hit with dopamine when they ban people. Just like uncles in a society deciding the rules of when a Swiggy delivery person should not visit the premises
