Switch, target seed, series A,B startups.

Create open source repos, share on reddit for feedback and stars. Write kickass readmes and write tests. Add the CI badge, that gets them hard.

If you are from a niche domain target those startups, becoming a T shaped dev brings in the most money.

Slap on some devops exp, preferably at ur current company since its hard to learn devops without the scale of production, thats an added advantage to BE devs if they can create, deploy and manage the entire kube cluster.

Lastly, sacrifice a virgin before applying to jobs.

To optimize for comp as a software developer look at -

  1. Type of company: product > service
  2. Size: bigger is better
  3. Funding: more is better
