Salary expectations depend on a lot of factors

Company Experience Skill Set Last Salary (Most Indian HRs are hell bent on this)

Assuming you're working hard and doing SDE2 level of work - Your salary needs a lot of correction. Frankly I feel you have been exploited.

Here's a plan : Get into a Product based startup (10-15 LPA / 15-20 LPA whatever range you're able to convince the HR)

Switch every 2 years, get relevant skills and experience and move. Try to get brand names on your resume. Aim for companies like MMT, Cleartrip, Flipkart, Thoughtspot, Meesho, etc

Every switch you do industry standard is 30% hike. (There are people who pull off 100% hikes as well, if you can, aim for that)

Since your salary is on the low end, many companies will again like to take advantage of your situation. The only way to avoid it is going for FAANG like companies.

If you can work hard and prepare for FAANG, they have salary ranges for each role, which they will abide by no matter what. If you get there your salary will get corrected. From there on things will be sorted.

Just make sure you're upskilling and learning and adding value to wherever you are.

I think 10 lakhs is good enough, but if you go to good product & reputed companies 15 lpa would be good but it depends on

You can get startef with 15. They will negotiate if they want to. You can go as low as 12lpa. Not lower than that.
