Scaled my app to 100k users

Hey everyone, I’ve been working on something for the past year, and today we crossed 1 lakh customers! The joy of building something and seeing people use it is truly insane. I used to think (and still sometimes do) that having a mentor or a senior engineer would make things easier. But being a sole developer pushes you to research deeply, dig into the rabbit hole, and learn through experience. After all, what better way to learn than by example?

Awesome, congrats buddy! Would love to know a few things -

How much initial capital did you start with? How much time did it take you to reach this milestone? What are some future risks/problems you're planning to optimize for?

SqueakyDumpling
SqueakyDumpling

started with the money of other co founder friends/family round. We started in August of last year and the future problems we are looking to solve is making our tech more robust and therefore planning to increase the tech team size. Also looking to hire some folks for support because talking to customers is a very good thing but handling 100 calls in a day regarding why KYC server is down is pretty hectic I'd say.

Congratulations!
Could you shed some light on how did you get your first 10/100/1000 users.

SqueakyDumpling
SqueakyDumpling

started with people in my network friends, family you name it and then did little promotion of our page and reached 1000 customers quite quickly and then within 4 months of launch we had 6000 users but then we had a pretty bad time because for the next 6 months we could only scale upto to 10k users so the growth was too slow nearly 20-25 useya day and then we did strategical marketing targeting people who could be our potential users, that was really good turnaround I'd say.

Hi I have a genuine idea like I know it can be a boost in tech industry but feel demotivated how can I handle it single handedly any insights

SqueakyDumpling
SqueakyDumpling

if you think you have a great idea just build a MVP around it and go to the market. The product you have in your mind improves a lot when you talk to the first set of users.

100K is a proper milestone. Congratulations @eleCtrik Curious about the growth channels that worked for you? Can you shed light on how it happened?

SqueakyDumpling
SqueakyDumpling

thank you @AlphaGrindset so as of now we are exploring the growth means, till now we have tried what our competition did(facebook ads, podcast, influencers), why? Because it's tried and tested but given the fact we will hit a plateau soon we are looking out for more growth options because we are doing better in some important aspects and would like to present that.

Grapevine is a free app. How do they run their startup?

Pardon me for being so naive here. I want to understand this new type of startup trend.

  1. What’s the source of motivation for their employees to stick to their jobs?
  2. How do apps like these think of monetizing? There is no ad, no paid...
