See progress we have made in last 10 years in manufacturing. And then see the 'India shining' perception we have created to fool ourselves!

Here's the thing. If India does not make manufacturing jobs ASAP, we're going to have immense unemployment within 5-10 years. IT IS NOT A JOKE.

I genuinely feel the balance in society will get screwed, and India will stop being what it feels like today (think even more crime, less safety, even more poverty)

We already have >25% youth unemployment. But also lots of government sector industries are heavily understaffed.

Something can definitely be done about that perhaps... shame the government prioritises more privatisation and tax breaks for adani & co.

India is at the cusp of a civil war and it is inevitable. Bureaucrats have looted this country at its core and have already build properties outside this country. They will leave this country putting it on a ventilator.

Build core manufacturing and develop infrastructure ❌ Jump directly to services heavily dependent on imports ✅

Looks like a pro congress account trying to distort facts. Here's the graph of export value comparison between india and vietnam between 2014 to 2024.

It includes export of services....

This is because we're useless.
I'm not being pessimistic.
I'm saying we have delusions of grandeur.
Till we realise we are full of shit, we won't open our eyes to our flaws and ways to improve.

To start with, how about some civic sense, some manners, some sense of space, some cleanliness, some honesty, some secularism.

2014 ke baad trend kharab ho gaya hai. Demonetization probably had a role to play as well.

Well one way to think about it is, its take time in a democracy, while vietnam is a communist authoritarian state where there is no opposition and any decision is executed asap. A similar picture will emerge if we look at china, the rate at which it has grown is mind blowing. In india we have reservation based on caste and all parties are distributing freebies plus corruption is rampant with little action against the corrupt.

GoofyDonut

Wait, you're telling me when people of Vietnam and China want development, jobs and improved living conditions, their authoritarian state actually makes it happen? Whaat!

I wonder what our "democratic" state needs to make that happen, huh.

That’s democracy for you. When people are so dumb like here, that’s completely expected.
Extreme reservation in public sector, and anti development thinking in people’s mind, what can you expected, growth lol.

Don't defame vishwaguru. Unemployment is a Soros conspiracy.

And what about growth in absolute? % share don't mean much

Can you explain your statement?

Absolute production for Vietnam and india will be at different levels. So the % share of exports of their production should not be compared
