should I ask for my vested tokens?

i recently worked at a web3 startup where during the interview they promised a salary and crypto tokens (inplace of equity in the company) with a vesting of 4 years.

the company recommended me to their sister company recently, and now i sort of have all ties cut with them.

all of this happened in a hurry so it didn't hit to me to ask for my vested tokens (i worked for them for 1.5years), neither is this mentioned in the contract (very early stage startup when i joined)

they don't have a token of their own yet, but we had a verbal agreement that when there will be tokens minted I'll be eligible.

so now im confused if it seems right to ask them for it or should i just leave it and move on?

if i do choose to ask them, how should i go about it? something like "hey i realised we dont have anything about the vested tokens in writing, can we have it now?" or "hey it just hit me, what happens to my vested tokens at the company?" or ?

Aww, thanks @AITookMyJob! @michealscott we need a feature where tagging someone notifies the other person, I stumbled upon this post by accident!

@eatrice verbal agreements in these regards are a little difficult to enforce. You can get in touch with the person you had the conversation with and see where they're at - hey, we discussed me getting some tokens in lieu of equity, I was hoping we could make it more solid because inspite of not being directly involved with the company, I'm super invested in the project

Something along these lines could be good

ah thanks a lot. this sounds nice I'm not looking to enforce it as such, just that is it ethical to bring this up even
