If you're passionate about data and statistics, go for it. Start with basics like Python, R, and statistics. Online platforms like Coursera and edX are good places to start. But remember, it's not just about changing tools, it's about changing your entire mindset. If you're comfortable with Spring Boot, I'd say stick to it and master it. The grass isn't always greener on the other side.
