I don't post such stuff, but man, some of laws in India are just archaic and dumb. And it's not just for Hindu's, Even Kerala HC (Christian complainant) and Allahbad HC (Muslim complainant) have argued the same.
Does it mean the amount they have set aside or amount we think should be spent? Does marriage have to happen to claim the expense?
NAL, but you don't need to get married to claim the expense. It's equating how much parents would have paid if they did get married. How they'd determine the amount (no idea). The lady (?) above claimed 20L be set aside for her (out of 55L that her father was getting as his post retirement sum).

Many laws are just plain retarded. For eg, how the government controls how you consume alcohol. They control where they can sell it etc. this of course varies from state to state. If you want to have an open bar at an event, you need to take the government's permission and pay them too.
I'm not even someone who drinks a lot and I don't condone drinking frequently, but this is plain ridiculous.
