Startup Bros are net negative to society.

What has startups done that has added value to a normal Indian's life? Other than a few.

Obviously, apart from fellow tech bros.

Normal Indians shop from startups founded by startup bros/sis:

Flipkart Myntra Nykaa Meesho

Normal Indians pays for those shopping using PG founded by startup bros/sis:

Razorpay Paytm PhonePe Cashfree

Normal Indians get those products delivered to their doorstep, again by startups founded by startup bros/sis:

Delhivery ShipRocket

Normal Indians have lakhs of new job opportunities available to them, all thanks to startup bros/sis who are silently building for the greater good of our society.

@Dos That's not a triggered post, maybe you're having a bad day have a lemonade and chill a bit.

wtf is a normal indian in your mind? If that's the family on 1500$ annual income,

Here's few startups whose product/service I've noticed being used by our building security guard. WhatsApp Flipkart
Redbus Paytm Xiaomi Ullu

If you move to rural areas there's also many doing their bit, Namastegaon, is one from Rajasthan doing good.

In a nation of 150 cr population any number of good startups can be termed "a few" value adds.

Be optimistic.

My rolling paper and ciggerates come straight to my door via blinkit. Nobody, not even education system has added a bigger value to my life.

Can invest without broker, can buy food at 3am in 2 degree celcius, can call plumber in any city without hassle or bargain or service quality... The list goes on

Blinkit ciggis bhi deliver karta hai kya?

Yes but playstore policy disallows it so you can either use ios app if u have apple or u can dwd blinkit lit app from their website instead of playstore with tobacco products available

Slight modification to your statement.. the startup bros in their 20s/ early 30s are the problem. The older ones do add a lot of value.

Anybody who is trying to build something new, spending most of their waking hours on something that has very low odds of success - is not net negative...

Sure, there's bad parts to startup bro culture. But look around, there's already been enough big ones created, who changed our personal lives. And that's an outcome of 1 in 10000 people who used to startup 10 years back. Now it could be 5 in 10000? We should see that resulting in more Indian long standing businesses, a few years out

Why do you feel they are net negative?

My 3 cents on the Zepto story as a founder

Tldr; Fully support it.

I have 3 points

  1. I am a founder here. And one of the major yardsticks you make decisions as a founder is based on how successful startups similar to you did.

Self-righteous folks on Twitter and Grapevine wo...

Work hard and build in India 🇮🇳

The US is in its late stage capitalist phase, a ship that's going to sink for the next 50 years. If you're a young person there it doesn't make sense to work as hard as your Grandpa the reward on average isn't as great.
