Stuck in ancient tech project

I am interested in specializing in fullstack development with modern tech stack, nextjs, prisma, postgresql, shadui. My current project has over a million loc, ancient tech stack though: java struts, weblogic. Build time takes around 2 hours and running it locally is a 8 point story task everytime.

I have been trying my best to learn on the side. Have also built some projects but I need to be more fluent.

Only my debugging skills and code navigation has improved and that too has peaked.

I am now feeling stuck. Coming from office tired and then I feel guilty for not having learned on the side because I am mentally tired in office.

Can anyone suggest how they dealt with this kind of problem or if my perspective is wrong

After office hours studying is tough as body is exhausted from all work and commuting from office.Rather try to sleep early and wake up early morning to study(2 hrs/day on weekdays) is enough you can devote more time in weekend. Also need to maintain this routine(rising early) throughout ur preparation(even on weekends) time else it will be difficult to mange time.

Have been trying that but a day or 2 off the routine throws out entire routine. I guess building a routine is the only way. But somehow I am not able to maintain past 14 days, like something happens that breaks the routine and takes time to get back

IMO, Do not rush...even if you could find half hour a day for yourself, try to utilise it..read books..listen to music...keep your spirits high and keep your goal in your mind all the time..you would find the right path yourself
