Suggest an international trip up to 1 Lac.
Now that Christmas and New Year holidays are over. There will be less crowd at tourist destinations. Please suggest a foreign trip with a budget of 1 lac for a couple. Please mention if you have recently been to any trips and what was the total cost.

Nepal.
On a more serious note - Vietnam. May be a bit of a stretch at 1L, but 4D/3N are doable if you manage airfares / hotels well.
Worst case Sri Lanka.
Worst case ?? I have been to sri lanka and it one of my best trips till date. Way way way better that bali, vietnam and thailand.
Azerbaijan or Armenia Indigo return flights cost 35k from Delhi.
I made trip to Azerbaijan , Armenia , Georgia in less than 80k in Dec 2023 ๐
Total days : 12
There's a war going on there, I think. It's not safe ..
Nope . No war . There is a conflict region between Azb and Armenia but anyways you do not need to go there. All the 3 countries are very peaceful and there is no disturbance
Flight from BLR or Chennai, from Chennai it's cheap. 6k-8k one way, from blr 10-12k one way.
You can take uber for inter city travel, way cheaper than India. I took uber in 3k for 150km (same as sarjapur to blr airport)
Go south for beach life. Mostly European tourists, cheap (even for indians), extremely soft spoken and sweet locals, save for tourists.
Whale watching in mirrisa at 60usd (don't miss this)
Surf lessons on almost all beaches.
Take train from ella to kandy (or reverse) if you have time.
You can hire 2wheelers like in Goa. Extremely civilised traffic. You will go mad looking at roads, traffic and cleanliness.
Sure buddy. But what's the destination that you're talking about?
Sri lanka.
BTW how's swiggy doing ? I gave 2 rounds of interview and HR suddenly stopped responding.
Vietnam, Malaysia, indonesia, Thailand. We did Vietnam, Thailand and cambodia for 75k per person last year for 16 days. You can just try Vietnam and Thailand for like 9-10 days. Again budget travel only. Nothing fancy. Breakfasts used to be from 7/11 stores. One meal on the streets and one fancy meal per day. Stay was around 1.5k per person(some places we got 1k for a person). Flight tickets would cost you around 22-24k if planned in advance. All the best
@SwEng do you have itinerary of your trip?
Thailand: 7 days: Bangkok, phuket, phi Phi(didn't do pataya/krabi)
Cambodia: 4 days: Siem reap(most time spent here), phnom penh,
Vietnam: 7 days: ho chi Minh and hanoi(if u plan on doing Vietnam, check out other places like Da Nang also)
We normally don't like doing much place hopping so didn't add a lot of places to the iternary.
Recently did a Vietnam trip for 9 days, the total expense was 95K. Totally worth it.
Can u share some details of your trip please?
Cost of flights one way is 19K (you can get it for 8K, if you go from Trichy), visited hanoi, ninh binh, nha trang, mekong delta and ho chi minh city. We partially booked hotels and partially airbnbs. You can rent scooty in some cities and explore that way. Use Grab for taxis, they are cheaper.
Bhutan
I think flights to paro airport are an issue. I wasn't able to find it from Delhi or Kolkata.
You can enter Bhutan from West Bengal also. There is a small city called Bagdogra which shares borders. I had taken that route in 2019 and did my Bhutan trip in less than 40k for 7 days.
Nepal/ Sri Lanka/ Vietnam are cheaper, all these places have cheaper hostel options and even the internal flights are cheap.
Dubai chale jaao.
Thailand or Vietnam
My friends and I did Vietnam trip for about 8days and it costed us about 80k per head but we were more than 5 people and so our expenses were shared. However for a couple I think cheaper airbnbs might also be available so you can try that. I would advise against hotels if you are going to travel more instead of a relaxed vacation, airbnb would be better. But if you want a relaxed vacation then hotels could be a great idea.
Since you guys are a couple then I would highly suggest the cruise ship in Halong Bay. Also you can visit places like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City as well but if you want cave trekking( Vietnam is famous for it) then go to phong nha. Food options for vegetarians are low and if you are not picky then you wonโt have issues there. Whatever is expensive and beer is cheap๐
