Swiggy joining

I (23 grad) working with a service based company, around 5 months exp, got an offer from Swiggy for a contract role. Is it worth joining Swiggy right now amidst all the recession and layoffs chaos?

Swiggy is indeed planning for a layoff. Everyone is sh*t scared coz of this. The expected layoff date is around Jan end/Fed start. Do think twice before joining Swiggy.

Most people are busy leaving and to replace them Swiggy is hiring contractors/ASDE.

Oh fuck. Are these contractors/ asde also going to get affected by layoffs?

they might be hiring contractors as replacement to their own staff who are leaving....

Tbh, layoffs are bound to happen at Swiggy along with Udaan, Unacademy, Meesho and others. So, yeah! it depends on how much CTC and inhand they are paying. It would have been great if u have mentioned how u got ur contract role? Through Recro? Also, what's the pay they were offering?

If u r okay with getting laid off, after making some good money even for 6 months to 1 year, then u should continue. But ur future employers will see as a red flag that u changed two companies in just one year

They themselves conducted a mega drive sortoff, with around 50ish getting offer. Considering there performance in past financial year, I dont think there is any reason for them to layoffs. And also they are going for ipo in coming few months. What do you think about layoffs happening by them in coming say, 6 months

Also if theres extremity in my resume showing 2orgs, i would simply skip the servicae based one. Also having swiggy on resume is a great thing imo. What say

You should join, they will not fire you as you are already a contractor, plus it will give you good exposure and lots of doors will open for you in future. Join somewhere else if you have other opportunities otherwise join here.
