Every time these rumours of layoff comes in Swiggy, our VP used to categorically dismiss them as speculations. Not this time. Even the VP doesn’t have a clue about the chaos and panic around, and how to handle teams. So yeah, looks like layoffs are happening soon - likely in a weeks time.

There’s already a lot of pressure from senior leadership on profitability, and Zomato’s relatively better finances are adding fuel to the fire.

Not sure how these companies can run on loss forever. It makes sense to lose a bit for faster growth if you are close to achieving profitability. But when loss is like over 3x of revenue that makes it pretty terrible. But I like Swiggy tech more than Zomato. It's pretty smooth and accurate
