The promotion cycle is not the same as the appraisal cycle. Rather based on the appraisal cycle, the promotions are determined. Promotions include changes in the job title, scope, position and roles. Sometimes a promotion can also mean an increase in pay, however, that’s not the same for all cases. The TCS promotion cycle consists of various factors, including seniority, performance reviews and feedback.
In TCS, seniority plays an important role. Long-term employees who have shown commitment to the organisation are awarded promotions.
A regular performance review is conducted at TCS. Mainly the managers conduct performance reviews to assess the performance of the employees. After thoroughly reviewing their performance, when the manager finds that an employee has stood out in the workforce, he/she will get a promotion.
If an employee receives good feedback from his coworkers, stakeholders and customers, the employee may get a promotion.
If you haven’t received a promotion in 2 years, you can talk to your manager to understand the situation.
