Thinking of changing to UI/UX from psychology

I completed my bachelor's in Psychology and have good practical application of psychological skills. I was always intrested in UI/UX since middle-high school but didn't know about its existence. Now since its mainstream I was thinking of getting into it, my aim is to make designs that are good, follow some reliable rules yet have creative applications applied to make it unique and use cognitive psychology to make it a pleasurable and human centric experience.

When it comes to payments, career growth and placements what is your experience ? Is it good and justified, is the growth scope good ?
